What is the Winter School?
The Winter School will be held February 6-8, 2012 in Rome: the event signals the gathering of various Città dei mestieri of the world. In past years this annual, international, event has taken place in Milan, Barcelona, Porto, Irun and Geneva. This year the Winter School will see the gathering of about 150 individuals, representing about 30 different Città dei mestieri. Over the course of the three days there will be meetings, assemblies and workshops, as well as official visits to various public institutions and a gala dinner on Tuesday, February 7.
What is Città dei mestieri?
It is an area for information and guidance on business and professional training, open and free to all: young people, students, adults, individuals who already have professional experience or are looking for their first job, employed or unemployed, disabled, individuals in difficulty (over 40, people on the move, etc ...). The thematic principles are: get familiar with your options, look for a job, choose your training, begin working.
How did they begin and where can they be found?
The first Città dei mestieri got started in Paris in 1993. Today there are over 30 in various countries: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy (Milan, Genoa, Rome and Treviso), Switzerland, Chile, Canada, Brazil, Republic of Mauritius.
La Città dei Mestieri of Rome and Lazio
La Città dei Mestieri of Rome and Lazio was inaugurated in June of 2009 in office buildings located at Via Tuscolana, 2068 (in Rome). It was the Consortium Sol.Co. who obtained the title from the international committee, in Paris, in 2007, after a long period of dossier work.
From 2003 to 2005 the Sol.Co. has come to know the experience of CdM in Paris thanks to Project Equal SIS 328, the European inter-exchange program of Lazio, which has been involved in the initiative from the start of CdM and has been fundamental in preserving the work done and the exchanges had thanks to Project Equal SI.
